This is probably true, yes. Ron Paul is a homophobe who claims he would let the states decide on marriage. That’s swell, but he would also allow states to decide laws on sodomy, which could make homosexual male sex illegal. Ron Paul voted against hate crime legislation and gay adoption. Plus the following:
The Paul campaign website recently posted a press release on the endorsement of a minister who said: “Difficulty in implementing Biblical law does not make non-Biblical penology just, But as we have seen, while many homosexuals would be executed, the threat of capital punishment can be restorative, leading gays to “repent.” After the bad press, it was deleted.
* Like always, Paul and his staff have made no further public statement on the matter.Info: http://www.advocate.com/News/Daily_News/2011/12/28/Paul_Endorser_Death_to_Unrepentant_Gays/
Ron Paul has also said this: http://www.towleroad.com/2011/12/ron-pauls-homophobia-in-context.html
And this: http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul207.html ”If I were in Congress in 1996, I would have voted for the Defense of Marriage Act, which used Congress’s constitutional authority to define what official state documents other states have to recognize under the Full Faith and Credit Clause, to ensure that no state would be forced to recognize a “same sex” marriage license issued in another state. This Congress, I was an original cosponsor of the Marriage Protection Act, HR 3313, that removes challenges to the Defense of Marriage Act from federal courts’ jurisdiction. If I were a member of the Texas legislature, I would do all I could to oppose any attempt by rogue judges to impose a new definition of marriage on the people of my state.”
"Having studied this issue and consulted with leading legal scholars, including an attorney who helped defend the Boy Scouts against attempts to force the organization to allow gay men to serve as scoutmasters, I am convinced that both the Defense of Marriage Act and the Marriage Protection Act can survive legal challenges and ensure that no state is forced by a federal court’s or another state’s actions to recognize same sex marriage."
See what he did there? Ron Paul makes Bills to protect the things he votes against. He likes to have his cake and eat it too. Both these Bills would prohibit legal gay marriage: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marriage_Protection_Act and http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h539/show -What else?.
This: http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul120.html ”The Court determined that Texas had no right to establish its own standards for private sexual conduct, because gay sodomy is somehow protected under the 14th amendment “right to privacy.” Ridiculous as sodomy laws may be, there clearly is no right to privacy nor sodomy found anywhere in the Constitution. There are, however, states’ rights — rights plainly affirmed in the Ninth and Tenth amendments. Under those amendments, the State of Texas has the right to decide for itself how to regulate social matters like sex, using its own local standards. But rather than applying the real Constitution and declining jurisdiction over a properly state matter, the Court decided to apply the imaginary Constitution and impose its vision on the people of Texas.”
P.s- These are from his books, not his newsletters. Yes, he really is that twisted.
And then all of this:
